After the specified 30 minutes for the test, an additional 10 minutes are provided for transferring the answers to the answer sheet. The test measures the candidates’ understanding of talks and lectures delivered in a variety of Western accents, mostly British.
There are 40 questions on the test, broken up into 3 separate sections. The exam lasts 60 minutes and tests applicants’ knowledge of factual, analytical, and narrative works.
Two assignments in this test must be finished in 60 minutes. In problem 1, candidates must describe tables, graphs, charts, and diagrams in no fewer than 150 words. In task 2, applicants must write a 250-word essay on the assigned topic. Task 2 makes up twice as much of the overall writing score as Task 1.
The speaking exam is typically administered in the form of a face-to-face interview and lasts between 11 and 14 minutes. There are three phases to this test. In the first, the examiner asks questions about the candidate’s background and other things. The candidate is given two minutes to talk in the second segment on a general topic. In the third section, follow-up questions about the subject of the second section are asked.
